How We Review Sweepstakes Casinos

By — Slots & Sweepstakes Reviewer

Every casino review on this site follows the same process. Here’s what that looks like.

The six-step methodology

Step 1: Signup and state verification

We create a real account using our own email and personal information. We check the signup flow for clarity, the state eligibility mechanism, and whether the welcome offer is delivered as advertised. We also check for immediate upsell pressure — legitimate platforms let you explore without immediate purchase prompts.

Step 2: Games and lobby

We play a minimum of 40 sessions across different game types — slots, table games where available, live dealer if offered. We assess:

  • Game library depth and variety
  • Whether the math models feel accurate to published RTP ranges
  • Mobile vs desktop experience parity
  • How SC and GC modes are differentiated in the lobby

We don’t score on “fun” — that’s subjective. We score on library depth, game quality, and mode accessibility.

Step 3: Coin economy and pricing

We review all Gold Coin packages and the Sweeps Coins attached to each tier. We calculate the effective SC per dollar across all packages and compare to platform averages. We also check:

  • Whether the no-purchase SC routes are clearly communicated
  • Whether the mail-in route is functional and the address is real
  • Whether daily bonuses actually deliver what’s advertised

Step 4: Support

We contact support at least three times on non-trivial questions — not just “how do I deposit.” We evaluate response time, response quality, and whether human agents are accessible (vs. pure bot deflection). Support quality is weighted heavily in our scoring because it determines what happens when something goes wrong with your account or redemption.

Step 5: Terms review

We read the sweepstakes rules and terms of service in full. We check:

  • Whether the mail-in route is compliant with US promotional law
  • Redemption minimums and whether they’re practically achievable
  • Any gotchas in promotional terms (expiry windows, SC use restrictions, withdrawal limits)
  • Whether the platform’s terms have changed significantly since launch in a way that disadvantages players

Step 6: Real redemption attempt

This is non-negotiable. We accumulate Sweeps Coins (through purchases, free routes, or gameplay), complete full KYC, and initiate a cash prize claim. We time the process from submission to fund receipt and note every communication along the way.

No review is published until this step is complete. A platform that fails at redemption fails the review, regardless of how good the lobby is.

Scoring

Scores are on a 0–5 scale. The six steps contribute roughly equally, with support and redemption weighted slightly higher. A 4.0+ requires no significant failures in any category. A 4.5+ requires genuinely exceptional performance in at least two categories.

We do not accept payment from operators for scores or placement. We don’t run sponsored reviews. If a platform offers us a partnership, we disclose it and exclude them from rating comparison tables until we’ve completed a full independent review cycle.

Freshness

Casino terms, offers, and game libraries change. We review all active platform listings at least every six months and re-run redemption tests annually. The “Updated” date on each review reflects when we last verified the material facts in that article.
